The ISTM offers next September a DU "Managing humanitarian paramedical projects" in partnership with the Master in Management of solidarity IRCOM. This training aims to prepare the 1 year paramedical professions graduates who wish to work in humanitarian (nurse, midwife, physiotherapist, lab technician, psychologist, occupational therapist, Pedorthist, orthotist, etc.)
While closes the first World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul, all industry players recalled the urgent need for more effective humanitarian action and greater involvement of local people. It is therefore essential to train paramedical professionals immediately operational context in relief and development. In addition to mastering their craft, they should be able to pass on their skills to train local populations.
Provide effective medical care to vulnerable populations
The professions of humanitarian require specific skills to be acquired by healthcare professionals who wish to work for development projects or humanitarian emergency.
The training focuses on 5 core competencies, approached from the medical angle:
Design and conduct of health projects in context URD (emergency, rehabilitation, development)
Evaluation and quality development
Admission is bac + 3 application and interview. Training includes 4 months of theoretical and practical teaching from September to December and then an internship of 6 months.
