The training to become a doctor to follow
Doctor of state medical degree is required for this job. It is obtained after nine years of minimum study in a medical school. The first cycle, called CDR, lasts two years. The first year is devoted entirely to the preparation of competitions for medical studies, allowing entrance PCEM2. After the second cycle of medical studies (DCEM) cut in four years: DCEM1, DCEM2, DCEM3 and DCEM4. Since 2004-2005, all students who have completed the second cycle pass the assistance of the internship, including those who wish to move towards general medicine: it is now considered a specialty. The third cycle lasts three years and is realized in specialty boarding.
At the end of study, future physicians receive a DES (Specialised Studies Diploma) and a Doctor of state medical degree after defending a thesis.
